Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of civil design documentation for planning and development applications, including OPA, ZBA, and SPA submissions, ensuring compliance with engineering principles, regulatory codes, and municipal standards.
- Perform and review design and analysis related to storm and sanitary systems, site grading, water distribution, and stormwater management modelling for ICI and residential site development projects.
- Review functional servicing and stormwater management reports for accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
- Assess project information to identify and evaluate feasible design solutions.
- Collaborate effectively with project managers, junior designers, CAD technicians, clients, and external consultants to ensure cohesive design execution.
- Review and seal design documents prepared by yourself and others.
- Interpret, address, and respond to review agency comments related to civil submissions for planning applications.
- Participate in internal and external project meetings and coordinate deliverables to ensure timely and efficient project progression.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Applied Science, or a related discipline.
- 4–10 years of relevant experience.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.).
- Strong technical understanding of civil engineering principles and design standards.
- Proficient technical report writing and strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage timelines effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with close attention to detail.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Working knowledge of hydraulic and hydrological modelling tools (e.g., MIDUSS NET, SWMHYMO, VO OTTHYMO, FlowMaster, HEC-RAS).
- Understanding of municipal approvals processes in Southwestern Ontario (OPA, ZBA, SPA).
- Familiarity with project management principles.
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
