The Technician is responsible for supporting glass operations across production, quality, and maintenance functions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- 
Operate glass equipment and packaging systems.
- 
Report inconsistencies and follow repair procedures.
- 
Monitor quality and record production data.
- 
Load/unload product and materials.
- 
Perform cleaning and housekeeping of the plant.
- 
Safely operate forklift, scissor lift, and loader.
- 
Work at heights with fall protection.
- 
Maintain production efficiency and follow SOPs.
- 
Operate control panels and PLC systems.
- 
Sample and analyze product per quality standards.
- 
Maintain records and support training of new staff.
- 
Participate in shift work as scheduled.
- 
Evaluate raw materials and finished goods.
- 
Assist with complaint investigations and reporting.
- 
Perform preventative and wear part maintenance with Mechanics.
- 
Handle and maintain small tools.
- 
Complete other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- 
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- 
Experience in production or manufacturing.
- 
Able to work both independently and in a team.
- 
Technical diploma or equivalent experience preferred.
- 
Welding/mechanical training an asset.
- 
Forklift/loader/scissor lift experience preferred.
- 
Basic math, verbal, and written communication skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- 
Standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling.
- 
Frequent lifting up to 35 lbs; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- 
Good vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
