We are currently looking to hire a Maintenance Manager for a very reputable company located in Richmond, BC.

About the Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all maintenance operations within the facility. This role manages a team of six (6) maintenance employees, including Millwrights and Electricians. At this location, there is a total of 130 people. The successful candidate will lead the development and execution of preventive and predictive maintenance programs, manage capital projects, and ensure the reliability and safety of all plant equipment and systems.
This is a day shift position; however, the Maintenance Manager must be available for on-call support and occasional weekend coverage on a rotating basis. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical knowledge, and a hands-on approach to continuous improvement and maintenance excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of six maintenance technicians, millwrights, and electricians.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
  • Manage and optimize the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to streamline workflows and track performance.
  • Support operations by driving continuous improvement initiatives and increasing machine uptime and productivity.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate maintenance activities including repair, modification, and performance of equipment and machinery.
  • Manage and coordinate contractors, vendors, and capital projects.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and identify training opportunities to ensure continuous team development.
  • Promote and enforce safety programs and compliance with all health and safety regulations.
  • Manage departmental budget, goals, and reporting metrics.
  • Support after-hours maintenance activities, including on-call or weekend work as needed.
Must-Have Qualifications
  • Minimum 6 years of experience managing a maintenance team in a manufacturing environment, ideally within plastics, packaging, or food production.
  • Experience managing in a unionized environment is required.
  • Proven ability to lead a team of maintenance employees.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a Red Seal-certified trade, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial maintenance and predictive/preventive maintenance practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Experience with LEAN manufacturing or performance management methodologies.
  • High energy level, results-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
