Job Function and Responsibilities: District Logistics Manager
As a key leader in a multi-site environment, you will be responsible for guiding and inspiring a team of associates. Your leadership will focus on optimizing operational efficiency, creating an engaging work environment, and fostering continuous improvement. This role requires a strong understanding of large-scale distribution operations and the ability to empower and develop team members to reach their full potential. Your main responsibilities will include:
What You Will Do: District Logistics Manager
- Hub Transportation Network: Design and manage the outbound and inbound transportation networks servicing the distribution centers (DCs) and hubs. Lead network design studies that balance customer service, cost management, and continuous improvement.
- Carrier Management: Manage relationships, KPIs, and portfolios of national and regional carriers. Source new carriers, negotiate freight contracts, and ensure performance aligns with business objectives.
- Outsourced Customer Fleet Management: Source and deploy outsourced dedicated providers for major urban areas. Manage daily operations to ensure strong fleet utilization, contract SLAs are consistently met, and monitor/audit fleet costs in line with contract terms.
- 3rd Party Warehouse & Cross-Dock Management: Source warehouse space as needed and design/manage daily operational processes at these facilities to optimize performance and cost efficiency.
- Other: Lead or participate in transportation projects as assigned, driving innovation and process improvement.
What You Will Bring: District Logistics Manager
- Minimum of 5 years of transportation management experience.
- Proven expertise in carrier rate analysis and contract negotiations.
- Experience in managing fleet delivery operations.
- Background in sourcing 3rd party warehousing is an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
Job Duties: District Logistics Manager
- Lead recruitment, training, and development of associates to cultivate a motivated, high-performing team committed to continuous improvement.
- Build and manage a succession plan while developing team members' skills for future growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with team members through a hands-on leadership style, ensuring a culture of teamwork and safety.
- Ensure all operational functions meet or exceed customer expectations while achieving financial and efficiency goals.
- Provide recommendations to improve organizational policies, programs, and profitability.
- Assess and improve operational processes, including maintenance, space utilization, and equipment protection.
- Manage and approve budget expenditures, working closely with senior management to develop and maintain budgets.
- Ensure safety and security practices align with industry standards and OHSA guidelines.
- Enforce company policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Collaborate with the regional HR department to manage human capital resources effectively.
- Stay committed to continual learning and adaptation of new operating methods and technologies to enhance operations and safety.

Prior Experience:
A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience is preferred. You will bring in-depth knowledge and skills in logistics, with a strong ability to offer expert advice and guidance to your team.
