Location Area: Barrie, Ontario
Compensation:
  • Starting rate: $46.66/hour
  • Post-probation rate: $51.07/hour (after approximately 3 months)
Shift:
  • 12-hour continental rotating shifts, alternating every 2 weeks:
    • Days: 5:00 am – 5:30 pm
    • Nights: 5:30 pm – 5:00 am
Position Overview:
As a Millwright, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and assembling industrial production and processing machinery. You will use a variety of tools and equipment to ensure equipment runs safely and efficiently, while keeping accurate maintenance records and contributing to a team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematic diagrams, and drawings to determine work procedures
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical equipment failures
  • Analyze test results, machine error messages, and operator-reported issues to identify equipment problems
  • Repair or replace defective components of machinery and equipment
  • Operate repaired equipment to verify successful repairs
  • Disassemble and reassemble equipment to inspect, repair, and replace parts
  • Fabricate parts using grinders, drill presses, saws, and other tools during maintenance, overhauls, or setup
  • Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
  • Maintain the operating condition of industrial production and processing equipment
  • Safely operate lift machines as required
  • Report non-conformance or irregularities to the Maintenance Manager
  • Maintain detailed and accurate maintenance records using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
Qualifications:
  • Valid 433A Red Seal Industrial Millwright License
  • Strong applied math, mechanical, and basic electrical skills
  • Solid understanding of conveyors, pumps, granulators, pneumatics, and industrial tools
  • Experience with MIG and Stick welding
  • Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and pneumatic schematics
  • Familiarity with standard maintenance procedures, preventative maintenance schedules, and safety practices
  • Computer skills to complete parts orders, work orders, and documentation
