Senior Structured Cabling Technician | $33/hr – $41/hr

FuzeHR is now seeking an experienced, passionate Structured Cabling Technicians with at least 5 years of hands-on installation and maintenance experience coupled with excellent leadership skills. This is a permanent, full-time role based in beautiful Vancouver, BC, involving travel to commercial and institutional customer sites throughout the lower mainland. What are the Responsibilities?

• Lead teams of 5-10 technicians to complete cabling aspects of security system installation and maintenance projects on customer site (installation, termination, and testing of copper and fiber optic cabling systems, related components, and auxiliary systems)
• Perform quality installation & maintenance of complex security systems within commercial & institutional environments (picture hospitals, schools, casinos – exciting projects!)
• Working with project managers, engineers, and other departments to set project parameters and timelines
• Troubleshooting and resolving issues with cabling systems, including signal quality, connectivity, and performance
• Providing technical guidance, training, and ongoing support for junior and intermediate technicians, monitoring performance, ensuring work is completed in compliance with technical and safety specifications
• Collaborating with other teams to integrate cabling systems with other infrastructure components
• Recordkeeping and completion of documentation as required, ensuring jobs are completed in a timely manner and delivering quality service to the customer

What are the Requirements?

• 5+ years’ experience installing and maintaining structured cabling systems and demonstrable experience working within large commercial/institutional environments
• Minimum 2 years within a senior capacity, must have experience leading teams in the field
• MUST BE ABLE TO PROVIDE EXAMPLES OF TECHNICAL WORK
• Excellent leadership skills, must be adept at providing technical oversight, coaching/training and providing performance remediation
• Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
• Expert technical knowledge relating to cabling systems, copper & fibre optic
• Knowledge and experience of low-voltage systems
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
• Ability to communicate effectively with subordinates, managers, other departments, and customers
• Valid Driver’s License & ability to drive a vehicle (clean abstract preferred)
