We are seeking an Engineer – Structures in Aerospace who will be responsible for the technical development, in-service support, modification and repair design of products, with particular emphasis on aircraft structural engineering.

Compensation: $77,000 – $98,000 + 100% employer-paid benefits and RRSP matching program after 3 months

Responsibilities:

  • Design repairs, modifications and product developments, focusing on structures and equipment installations in accordance with Engineering Procedures Manuals (EPM) and Design Approval Procedures Manuals (DAPM)
  • Support design development taking into account customer requirements, certification authorities and all other project constraints
  • Evaluate supplied data and acquire additional data to develop required design solutions
  • Provide interpretation and analysis of structural integrity data and make recommendations on deviations from the maintenance program
  • Apply recognized engineering principles and develop innovative methods to solve engineering problems and develop structural design solutions
  • Research and evaluate specifications, supplier products and external services
  • Contribute to the development of junior engineering staff in the application of engineering principles to the development of design solutions
  • Provide design advice to management as required
  • Develop technical data packages in support of airworthiness certification and other departmental objectives
  • Support the marketing and sales efforts of BD and the Engineering Department, as required
  • Provide technical assistance to internal and external customers as required
  • Participate in Engineering Department administrative activities
  • Perform other duties as required

Requirements:

  • B.Sc. in Aeronautical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education and experience
  • Be eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in British Columbia or equivalent professional designation
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience working in an aerospace environment
  • Experience with C130 aircraft preferred
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal and written
  • Logical and analytical skills
  • Understanding of airworthiness and design codes
  • Analysis of risks, failure modes and their effects, reliability
  • Leadership, mentoring and organizational management in the field of advanced technologies
  • Objective of obtaining a delegation from Transport Canada or DND
  • Must be Canadian residents or permanent residents
