Role: Project Engineer

Status: Permanent

Location: Abbotsford, BC

We are seeking an Aerospace Project Engineer to ensure that a project meets the technical requirements of the program (regulatory or otherwise) by applying recognized engineering and project management principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete work on time and to the highest possible quality
  • Treat customers and colleagues with sensitivity and respect
  • Help internal and external customers fulfill their responsibilities
  • Enhance existing skills and develop new ones through continuous learning
  • Work effectively with all project stakeholders to define project scope, cost and schedule estimates, and quality requirements
  • Develop a logical project breakdown to support effective estimating, project resource management and performance tracking
  • Monitor project performance against agreed estimates
  • Liaise with project staff, suppliers, customers and other stakeholders to bring the project to a successful conclusion
  • Evaluate data presented and acquire additional data to support design solutions required for development
  • Ensure that designs take into account customer requirements, certification authority and other project constraints
  • Apply recognized engineering principles to generate design and support solutions to meet customer and program needs
  • Research and evaluate specifications, supplier products and outside services to support engineering efforts
  • Participate in engineering department administrative activities

Requirements:

  • Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Aeronautical Engineering Technology
  • 3-5 years experience in engineering product design, analysis, and airworthiness certification related to aeronautical product developments and aircraft modification
  • Previous Project Engineering or Project Management of an Engineering discipline considered an asset
  • Previous aerospace industry experience considered an asset
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal and written
  • Strong ability to provide design solutions and technical analysis
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and SolidWorks or similar software
  • Knowledge of project management fundamentals
  • Knowledge of civil airworthiness engineering process (TCCA, FAA, and/or EASA)
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Must be Canadian residents or permanent residents
