Position: Senior Machinist
Shift: Days 7am-4pm
Pay Rate: $25-$35/hr based on Experience
Join the esteemed Machining team as a Senior Machinist and be at the forefront of crafting high-quality, precision components. Reporting directly to the Production Manager, you will be pivotal in setting up, operating, and maintaining manual machining equipment to produce components that adhere to stringent standards and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Machine Setup and Operation:
– Expertly set up and operate manual machining equipment, including lathes, milling machines, and drill presses.
– Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine precise machining requirements.
– Efficiently complete machine setups to meet production deadlines and ensure operational excellence.
2. Tool Selection and Maintenance:
– Select and utilize the appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and materials for each machining operation.
– Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment to sustain optimal performance and longevity.
– Maintain a well-organized and clean work environment to promote efficiency and safety.
3. Precision Machining:
– Execute high-precision machining operations such as turning, milling, drilling, and grinding.
– Monitor and adjust machining processes to ensure components meet exacting tolerances and surface finishes.
– Optimize production efficiency by adjusting machining parameters as necessary.
4. Quality Control:
– Conduct detailed inspections of machined components using precision measuring instruments like micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
– Address any deviations from specifications promptly, taking corrective actions to uphold quality standards.
– Maintain comprehensive records of inspection results and production activities.
5. Safety and Compliance:
– Strictly adhere to safety protocols and procedures while operating equipment and handling materials.
– Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and standards related to machining operations.
– Engage in safety training programs and advocate for a culture of safety within the Machining department.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in machining is advantageous.
2. At least 5 years of experience as a manual machinist in a manufacturing or machining environment.
3. Proficiency in setting up and operating manual machining equipment, including lathes, milling machines, and drill presses.
4. Deep understanding of machining principles, tooling selection, and material properties.
5. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications with precision.
6. Exceptional problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
7. Competence in using precision measuring instruments and inspection tools.
8. Strong commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
9. Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
