Service Manager

Opportunity:

A leading manufacturer of large high temperature heat pumps for the commercial and industrial Canadian and US markets, is looking for an experienced service Manager/Advisor. The successful candidate will be focused on setting up the support needed for the products, from testing in house, to assisting with startup/commissioning, to aftermarket technical support.

· Hours: Mon-Thurs 7:30 am – 5 pm, Fri 7:30 am – 11:30 am

· Salary: Negotiable

Responsibilities

· Ensuring that the equipment to the field is supported properly

· Assist with running and testing heat pumps in our factory test stations

· Evaluating service reps for various sales regions and establishing service agreements

· Develop and provide training programs for customer service tech at Transom facility and in the field

· Go to site to do factory startup and commissioning of newly installed equipment

· Train local service tech on startup and commissioning of transom equipment

· Provide technical support for field technicians over the phone or emails

· Trouble shoot the equipment and the controls

· Generate technical service bulletins

· Coordinate service parts

· Provide constant feedback of service issues and inquiries to the engineering and production teams

· Work together with engineering, production and product managers in developing new products and refining existing ones.

· Maintains knowledge of industry trends, including application of low-GWP solutions such as CO2 and A2L-refrigerants

· Develops working knowledge of industry regulations, restrictions, and laws, and ensures service department adheres to all regulations

· Displays extensive working knowledge of industry standards and practices, including product details and company services offered

· Work with design and manufacturing engineers in the development of product offered.

· Communicate quality standards to contractors and manufacturer reps.

· Prepare reports related to issues on units installed at customer site and review with internal staff.

· Assist in root cause analysis and solutions to quality problems.

· Display, to the extent required to perform job functions and after reasonable training, proficiency with programs such as Excel, Word, Frontier and all other required software.

· Use and maintain hand tools.

· Any other duties or responsibilities within the job holder’s capability that may reasonably be required from time to time.

Qualifications & Skills

· Service manager: 5 years (required)

· Experience with refrigeration-based HVAC equipment

· Detailed technical knowledge of refrigeration systems

· Being able to trouble shoot equipment

· Working with controllers and instrumentation
