We are currently looking for a Heavy Equipment Field Technician in the Chilliwack and Prince George areas (two separate roles) to support our customers specialized in the Heavy Equipment sector. We are looking for someone who values the quality of work they bring to the table, is reliable and ready to tackle all aspects of mechanical repair and maintenance of off-road heavy-duty machinery. This is a full-time, permanent position, working on day shifts. You must be able to work overtime and out of town.

Responsibilities of the Heavy Equipment Field Technician:

  • Inspect, repair, and adjust Caterpillar, Volvo, Komatsu, and other heavy off-road equipment
  • Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliances
  • Diagnose and repair defects in heavy duty equipment
  • Perform mechanical repairs on equipment in the shop and road calls when required
  • Electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and diagnostics
  • Accurate completion of work orders and timecards
  • Install and align engines and machinery
  • Repair mechanical transmissions, drive-trains, and final drives
  • Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and repair techniques
  • Other mechanical repair work as require
  • Other duties assigned by the foreman

Qualifications of the Heavy Equipment Field Technician

  • Red Seal Journeyman Mechanic
  • Willing to work overtime
  • 3 years’ experience as a Heavy Duty Off Road Equipment Mechanic
  • Work out of town when required
  • Must have Field Experience and able to work independently
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Experience with routine maintenance operations
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Computer literate and strong communication skills
  • Must have full set of tooling up to and including ¾”
  • Be able to pass a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol Test
