Key Responsibilities as a Fresh Produce Procurement Specialist:

• Cultivate Relationships: Research, develop, and maintain strong connections with growers and external vendors.

• Negotiate with Precision: Handle settlements and negotiate revised billings to keep our financials on track.

• Market Savvy: Analyze market pricing and availability to make smart purchasing decisions that protect our profitability.

• Trend Analysis: Work with the sales team and senior management to assess market trends and adjust strategies accordingly.

• Inventory Insight: Evaluate daily product reports and collaborate with the commodities team to manage inventory levels effectively.

• Purchase Process Management: Oversee the purchasing decisions and ensure smooth order fulfillment.

• Quality Assurance: Collaborate with internal teams to meet quality standards and regulatory requirements for all procured products.

• Compliance Communication: Regularly liaise with partners and growers to ensure adherence to food safety and security regulations.

• Analytical Tools Development: Create and manage tools to enhance procurement processes and performance.

What We’re Looking For:

• Education: Post-secondary education required; a degree or diploma in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.

• Experience: At least 2 years of commodity purchasing experience.

• Bilingual Skills: Spanish is a plus.

• Technical Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with ERP software a bonus.

• Relationship Builder: Proven ability to engage with suppliers and build lasting relationships that align with company goals.

• Detail-Oriented: Exceptional analytical and organizational skills with a knack for prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
