We are looking to hire a contract Red Seal Millwright for a 6 to 12-month assignment in beautiful Squamish, BC!

Due to the short-term nature of the positions, we are specifically looking for local candidates, no LOA or accommodation available. Work will start immediately and will likely run for a full year. Overview

As a Millwright your role is to provide mechanical equipment maintenance service and support the Innovation Plant
operations. Your primary focus will be to assist Plant operations by maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical
equipment including motors, pumps, valves, evaporators, fans and other related equipment. Your role will also require
the ability to remove equipment hatchways and piping flanges to provide access for the Operations team to complete
inspections and cleanout related tasks.
Core Responsibilities

1. Equipment Installation & Commissioning
  • Install pumps, compressors, mixers, conveyors, and other rotating equipment.
  • Align and level machinery using precision tools (e.g., laser alignment).
  • Assist in commissioning new systems and verifying operational readiness.
2. Maintenance & Repairs
  • Perform mechanical repairs on critical plant equipment.
  • Replace worn or damaged components (bearings, seals, shafts, etc.).
  • Conduct preventive maintenance tasks as per schedule.
3. Troubleshooting & Diagnostics
  • Identify mechanical issues in rotating and static equipment.
  • Use vibration analysis, thermal imaging, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Collaborate with plant engineers to resolve recurring problems.
4. Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all site-specific safety protocols, including PPE and permit-to-work systems.
  • Participate in toolbox talks and safety briefings.
  • Ensure compliance with chemical plant regulations (e.g., handling hazardous materials).
  • Key Tickets AWP, Fall Arrest, First Aid, WHIMS, Confined Space Entry/Rescue)
5. Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including parts used and time spent.
  • Report equipment status and issues to supervisors or maintenance planners.
  • Assist in updating maintenance logs and CMMS entries.
6. Collaboration & Support
  • Work alongside plant maintenance teams and contractors.
  • Support shutdowns, turnarounds, and emergency repairs.
  • Provide technical input during equipment upgrades or modifications.
7. Housekeeping & Site Integrity
  • Keep work areas clean and organized.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are stored properly after use.
  • Dispose of waste materials according to plant procedures.
8. Miscellaneous
  • Other duties as necessary
  • Assist with facility repairs at the CEIC office and CEPP building and may include (as examples)
    1. General carpentry
    2. Light plumbing
    3. Office equipment assembly
    4. Area reorganization.
    5. And more
Education and Experience
  • Inter-Provincial Red Seal Millwright required.
  • Pipefitter experience and/or welder certification is an asset.
  • 5+ years maintenance experience following Red Seal certification, preferably in an industrial/chemical production environment.
  • Experience commissioning industrial facilities is highly desired.
  • Forklift, boom lift, and scissor lift Certification are an asset.
  • Confined Space Entry/Rescue Certification is an asset.
  • Min Level 1 First Aid certification required; CE will provide external certification.
