Senior Project Manager – Mechanical (HVAC & Plumbing)
A well-established and growing organization in the mechanical construction industry is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex projects in HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems.
With nearly a century of experience, this multidisciplinary firm specializes in design-build (DB) projects for building mechanical systems across commercial and industrial sectors. Key Responsibilities
- Review contract documents and define project scope prior to project kickoff
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs (equipment, materials, surfaces) for procurement
- Negotiate, issue, and manage purchase orders
- Develop and monitor project schedules using Microsoft Project, including equipment delivery timelines
- Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders
- Oversee project execution while ensuring adherence to budget and cost control
- Manage change orders (pricing, approvals, and execution)
- Prepare schedules of values and manage progress billing and approvals
- Supervise commissioning activities (start-up, balancing, insulation, etc.)
- Participate in site testing and provide technical feedback
- Maintain high quality standards and minimize deficiencies
- Attend site meetings and ensure effective communication across all parties
- Manage warranties, maintenance, and post-project service
- Prepare correspondence with subcontractors and suppliers
- Perform other related duties as required
Profile & Qualifications
- DEC or Bachelor’s degree in Building Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 15+ years of experience in building mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, piping)
- Experience in data center projects (asset)
- Experience in ventilation with a specialized contractor (asset)
- Valid ASP Construction Safety Card
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Windows environment)
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit (asset)
- Bilingual (French & English); functional English required for communication with clients, suppliers, and partners
