On behalf of our smart grid technology client, we are searching for a Technical Writer! Are you a talented writer with a keen eye for detail and the ability to break down technical subjects in a way that is digestible for all levels of knowledge? Do you have fantastic communication and collaboration abilities and exposure to working in the software, hardware, or electronics space? This could be the role for you!
This is a full-time, permanent opportunity with onsite work from Monday to Friday.
Compensation:
  • $55K – $68K

Responsibilities:
  • Develop clear and concise documentation tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Participate in product development meetings to assess and determine documentation requirements for upcoming releases.
  • Revise and enhance existing materials by incorporating visuals such as screenshots, diagrams, and flowcharts.
  • Identify and resolve gaps or inconsistencies in current documentation, particularly for installation, maintenance, and support processes.
  • Adhere to established company guidelines for vocabulary, branding, and style in all documentation.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams to gather the necessary information for content creation.
  • Gain in-depth knowledge of company products, solutions, and technologies to ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation.
  • Utilize company-approved tools and platforms, including email, Slack, Salesforce, Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft Office 365 applications such as SharePoint, to support workflow efficiency.
Requirements:
  • Degree or Diploma in English, Business Communications, or similar
  • 2+ years of experience
  • Experience working in software, hardware, electronics or similar industry
  • Understanding of product development methodologies and documentation revision control methods
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate professionally with stakeholders, developers, and other senior managers
