About the Role: Technical Manager – Flexible Packaging Industry

As our Technical Manager, you will be the primary technical resource for the plant, bringing your expertise in film characteristics, adhesives, printing, and lamination. You will work closely with the engineering team and directly with clients to understand and meet their specifications, while also leading efforts on the production floor. Your responsibilities will include:

·Acting as the plant’s go-to expert for film, adhesives, printing, lamination, and processing technology

·Leading the plant technical team and collaborating with divisional R&D and account technical representatives

·Providing customers with trial materials efficiently while minimizing expenses, including visiting customer sites and supporting trial runs

·Establishing and managing technical product specifications, process conditions, and quality testing protocols for all products

·Managing the plant’s technical information, including manufacturing specs, key quality testing, and maintaining data for current products within the plant’s computer systems

·Overseeing change control and process adjustments to improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency

·Participating in quality and productivity improvements, driving cost reductions in raw materials, product design, and manufacturing techniques – Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing experience is a plus

·Coordinating with the plant quality team on customer quality audits, internal audits, and GMP/Product Safety audits

·Working directly with customers to address quality concerns and develop root cause/corrective actions

·Auditing raw material and equipment suppliers to ensure standards are met

About You: Technical Manager – Flexible Packaging Industry

We’d love to hear from you if you have the following skills and qualifications:

·BS Degree: A technical field is required

·5+ Years of Experience: In adhesive and/or extrusion lamination (preferred) and rotogravure printing

·Management Experience: Proven experience in managing teams in a similar technical environment

·B2B Customer Experience: Strong skills in dealing with business clients to ensure specifications and quality are aligned

·Team Player: Collaborative and ready to work closely with various departments

·Problem Solver: A proactive approach to quality improvements and process optimization
