We’re hiring a Structural CAD Designer to join a dynamic team in Burlington, ON.

Work with a leading provider of engineering, construction, and asset management services for storage solutions in the water, wastewater, power, and industrial markets. They operate throughout North American and have built the reputation on delivering the most challenging projects with a high degree of efficiency and precision. Challenging the norm and innovating better methods is core to the approach.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create, edit, and modify AutoCAD drawings based on designs provided by engineers, ensuring clarity through proper annotation.
  • Develop and interpret reinforced concrete, steel, mechanical, and shop drawings while collaborating with engineers and construction teams to meet fabrication and constructability requirements.
  • Assist with design tasks, including calculations, load rating, structural modeling and analyses, detailing, and cost estimates under the supervision of a senior engineer.
  • Contribute to project delivery through correspondence, meetings, and documentation, ensuring compliance with project schedules, quality standards, and accuracy.
  • Conduct thorough self-checks on all work to ensure accuracy and completeness before internal review.
  • Provide assistance to other departments, including Civil, Electrical, Substation, and Transmission & Distribution (T&D), as needed.

Qualifications:

  • College Diploma (in Civil Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology or Mechanical Engineering Technology) or Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering
  • 5 or more years of relevant AutoCAD design experience.
  • Highly proficient in Autodesk AutoCAD, with additional experience using Inventor or SolidWorks.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, construction, and civil plans, with experience in structural steel, reinforced concrete, or steel plate.
  • Understanding of engineering principles, as well as assembly, fabrication, and construction workflows.
  • Knowledge of project management software and computer applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Organized team player capable of working in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment.
