We are seeking a Steel Fabricator/Welder to join our client's dynamic team in their Surrey, BC location.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in manufacturing and construction, with expertise in various mechanical processes. This role requires proficiency in welding, rigging, and the use of hand and power tools. The person will be responsible for executing tasks that involve assembly, machining, and adherence to blueprints and schematic of our products.
This is a temp to perm role, with a high chance of transitioning permanently based on performance.
The role is primarily an afternoon/evening shift (4 x 10hr shifts – Monday to Thursday from 3:15pm – 12:45am) but there is a possibility for a straight day shift as well (Monday to Friday from 7am -3:30pm).
Compensation/Perks
- $43.93- $47.53 per hour
- Work for 9.5 hours but paid for 10.25 hrs (on the afternoon shift only)

Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain various machinery, including MIG and TIG welding equipment, plasma cutting tools, and press brake machines.
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to ensure accurate assembly and construction of components.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and calipers for precise measurements and adjustments during manufacturing processes.
- Perform rigging tasks to safely lift and move materials using cranes or forklifts.
- Conduct operations to fabricate parts as per specifications.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality output.
- Adhere to safety protocols while operating equipment and handling materials.
- Assist in ductwork installation and other construction-related activities as needed.
Requirements
- 5 years working as a steel fabricator or welder
- Red Seal Fabricator Trade Qualification and CWB Certified is preferred, or Level 1-3 Welding could be accepted.
- Proven experience in manufacturing or construction environments is essential with experience fabricating components for the lumber industry an asset.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in welding (MIG/TIG), machining, and assembly processes.
- Familiarity with rigging techniques, crane operation, forklift use, and basic math skills for measurements.
- Ability to work with various materials while maintaining attention to detail in all tasks performed.
