The Senior Product Developer is responsible for creating and maintaining technical style information, while guiding and mentoring other team members throughout the seasonal development process. This role requires strong collaboration skills, technical expertise, and leadership to ensure smooth product execution.

You will work closely with the Senior Designer to manage all aspects of ladieswear development, including graded specs, technical sketches, construction details, and fit sample assessments. You will also oversee the communication of technical details with vendors to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of each style.

In addition, the Senior Product Developer will contribute to seasonal development activities such as print recolouring and art specification updates.

Key Responsibilities:
Technical Development
  • Develop technical packages, including accurate technical sketches, design details, construction elements, and fully graded specs.
  • Communicate fabric and knitwear development requirements with overseas vendors.
  • Create and release Technical Packages in Yunique PLM according to seasonal timelines.
  • Accurately measure and analyze sample submissions; provide timely and detailed feedback to vendors.
  • Conduct fit sessions with the Design team and mentor junior team members through the fitting process.
  • Clearly communicate design, fit, and construction issues to vendors and ensure resolutions are tracked and implemented.
  • Maintain brand fit, style, and quality standards.
  • Manage creation, record-keeping, and communication of new style numbers.
  • Oversee incoming and outgoing samples.
  • Support the team on design-related tasks as needed (e.g., photoshoots, product charts, shipping).
  • Assist in maintaining and updating line sheets.
  • Create precise technical design sketches using Adobe Illustrator.
  • Review and approve submissions (samples, fabrics, lab dips, print strike-offs, graphics, embroidery, etc.).
  • Develop and update art specifications for graphic t-shirts and knitwear.
  • Manage print colour sheets, recolouring, and print/colour file organization.
  • Build and update style BOMs in PLM and maintain colour chip details.
  • Develop seasonal vendor tracking charts in Excel.
Requirements:
  • Degree or diploma in Fashion Design.
  • 5–7 years of experience in a similar role (ladieswear experience is an asset).
  • Strong knowledge of garment fit and pattern-making principles.
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Illustrator and proficiency in Microsoft Excel; PLM system experience is an asset.
  • Strong garment sketching and measuring abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to mentor junior team members through effective collaboration and leadership.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
