Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Coordination
- Partner with the project management team to develop schedules, milestones, and project execution strategies.
- Interpret and apply construction drawings, specifications, and related documentation.
- Coordinate resources, labour, and materials to ensure seamless project flow.
On‑Site Leadership
- Direct day‑to‑day site activities, including subcontractor management, sequencing, and material delivery planning.
- Track progress, adjust schedules, and maintain project momentum.
- Uphold safety standards, quality expectations, and compliance with building codes.
- Proactively troubleshoot challenges and implement effective solutions.
Subcontractor & Labour Management
- Lead, motivate, and supervise subcontractors and on‑site labour teams.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and development of site personnel.
- Host regular site meetings to reinforce expectations, progress, and safety culture.
Quality Assurance
- Conduct frequent inspections to confirm workmanship aligns with project standards.
- Identify deviations early and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain transparent communication with internal teams, clients, and partners.
- Produce detailed progress reports documenting key activities, issues, and resolutions.
Budget & Cost Oversight
- Support budget management by monitoring labour hours, materials, and site expenditures.
- Recommend cost‑saving alternatives without compromising quality or safety.
Risk & Issue Mitigation
- Anticipate potential schedule or budget impacts and develop mitigation strategies.
- Support contingency planning to ensure project resilience.
Client Relations
- Serve as a primary on‑site contact for clients, delivering updates and ensuring satisfaction throughout the build.

- Proven leadership ability with a track record of inspiring and guiding site teams
- Ability to assess, diagnose, and resolve complex technical issues
- Clear, professional verbal and written communication
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of construction experience, ideally within ICI environments
- Demonstrated leadership on projects valued at $20M+
- Experience with major institutional builds such as hospitals, medical facilities, post-secondary buildings, student housing, industrial facilities, or large commercial structures
- Deep knowledge of Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements
- Commitment to rigorous safety practices
- Gold Seal Certification and/or LEED Accreditation considered strong assets
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite and Microsoft Project
- Experience with tools such as Procore, BIM/VDC, Primavera P3/P6, Suretrak, or E‑Builder considered beneficial
- Knowledge of Lean Construction principles is an asset
