Shop Foreperson – Truck & Bus Maintenance
Location: Woodbridge
Reports to: General Manager
Day Shift: (7:00 am-3:30 pm) Monday to Friday
Salaried Position: $100,000/annual

We’re looking for a Shop Foreperson to lead our skilled team of technicians. This is a working leadership role that blends mechanical expertise with scheduling and coordination responsibilities. You'll play a key role in ensuring the safety, performance, and compliance of our fleet while supporting the development of your team.

What You Bring:
  • Licensed 310T Truck and Coach Technician and/or 310S Automotive Service Technician (both preferred)
  • Strong mechanical skills with a hands-on approach to problem-solving
  • Proven leadership experience or natural ability to lead and mentor others
  • WHMIS and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain)
  • Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and working in a shop environment
  • Strong communication, organization, and scheduling abilities
What You'll Do:
Lead the Shop Operations
  • Supervise and support technicians and shop staff
  • Assign work orders and oversee daily workflow
  • Ensure quality, timely completion of maintenance and repairs
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to newer technicians
Ensure Fleet Safety & Compliance
  • Schedule and track preventative maintenance inspections and repairs
  • Verify that all documentation and procedures meet National Safety Code standards
  • Work closely with the Fleet Manager to monitor performance and compliance
Support Budgeting and Procurement
  • Approve and track repairs exceeding $500
  • Order parts and supplies through preferred vendors to maximize savings
  • Monitor shop inventory and recommend purchases for tools and equipment
Promote a Safe, Organized Work Environment
  • Ensure the shop is clean, safe, and well-maintained
  • Reinforce safe work practices and procedures
  • Support waste disposal and environmental compliance efforts
Collaborate with the Fleet Manager
  • Share insights on mechanical issues and repair strategies
  • Assist with fuel management, work orders, and documentation
  • Communicate regularly to ensure alignment on shop priorities
