Senior Automation Specialist – Brewing

FuzeHR is on the hunt for a talented, Automation Specialist who loves beer! Just kidding…no beer loving required, but we need you to have experience with automation as it pertains to brewing environments or similar. Specifically, we are seeking Automation Specialists with knowledge of and experience using/programming Brewmaxx process controls. This isn’t a maintenance role, qualified candidates will be adept at programming from scratch and performing installation, integration, and commissioning within relevant food & beverage manufacturing environments and be comfortable within a customer-facing capacity.

What are the Responsibilities?

• Support the execution of industrial automation projects for customers within food & beverage manufacturing and commercial brewing
• Develop and program PLC, HMI, and SCADA applications
• Design, test, and implements industrial automation solutions
• Install, integrate, and commission applications/systems at customer sites
• Prepare documentation packages, including design documents, FAT/SAT, end-used, and training manuals)
• Collaborate with internal Electrical Designers to establish requirements for electrical design, review/approval of electrical designs, and redline markups post commissioning
• Perform field survey work as necessary to evaluate proper design constraints and gain insight for improvements
• Work with electrical personnel to perform I/O checks and lead troubleshooting activities.
• Ensure projects stay on track and on budget via effective time management, material selection, etc.
• Act as an integral member of each customer’s team and help them achieve their business objectives, effectively managing long term relationships and securing future/ongoing business
• Other duties as required by customers and/or projects

What are the Requirements?

• Appropriate Engineering Degree or Technologist Diploma (electrical, controls, automation, systems design)
• 5+ years of relevant industrial automation experience, including installation, integration, and commissioning
• Must have expert PLC, HMI, and SCADA programming abilities
• ***BREWMAXX EXPERIENCE MANDATORY
• Strong knowledge and experience with: Allen-Bradley (SLC, PLC-5, & Logix Families), Siemens (TIA Portal, S7) are preferred (GE, Omron, Schneider ok as well)
• HMI experience with FactoryTalk View ME/SE preferred (Ignition, Wonderware, iFIX are also acceptable)
• Excellent knowledge of industrial I/O and field wiring
• Understanding of electrical design, including 600/480VAC, 120VAC and 24VDC power distribution and loop diagrams
• PID loop programming and tuning experience
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable vehicle
• MUST reside within the GTA

Nice to haves:

Working knowledge of GMP/cGMP, GAMP, S88, CFR 21

Experience with PlantPAx DCS, E-Plan, and/or AutoCAD Electrical

Knowledge of hazardous area classifications

Eng or CTE designation
