Job Title: Sanitation Worker
Location: Burlington
Shift: Day Shift (Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM)
Compensation: $26.62 per hour
Duration: Starting ASAP, anticipated through December, with potential for extension
Job Description:
Fuze HR is seeking a reliable Sanitation Worker for our client’s food manufacturing facility. This role is essential for maintaining cleanliness and adhering to health and safety standards, ensuring production areas, tools, and equipment meet rigorous hygiene requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily and deep cleaning of production equipment, tools, tables, and surfaces in line with sanitation standards and protocols.
- Carry out routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, waste disposal, and cleaning assigned areas within the plant.
- Follow Lockout Tagout (LOTO) procedures and safety guidelines when performing sanitation tasks.
- Operate cleaning tools and equipment, including compressors, and handle cleaning chemicals responsibly.
- Wear and maintain required safety gear, such as uniforms and CSA-approved safety shoes.
- Use checklists to verify completion of all tasks, ensuring thoroughness and accuracy.
- Perform cleaning as outlined on the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS), documenting completed tasks.
- Complete corrective actions for any sanitation non-conformances identified in audits or assigned by the Supervisor.
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and HACCP requirements, reporting any deficiencies.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a sanitation role within the food manufacturing industry.
- Physical fitness to manage the demands of lifting, bending, crouching, and climbing stairs regularly.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions closely.
- Proficiency in English for clear communication of safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Background check required.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently, with good planning, organizational, and time-management skills.
- No restrictions on working with cleaning chemicals (e.g., detergents, bleach).
- Ability to perform physical activities involving the entire body, such as lifting, climbing, reaching, standing, pushing, and pulling.
Uniform and Safety Gear:
• Uniforms is provided as part of this role.
• Candidate will need to have own CSA approved safety shoes
Work Schedule:
The role requires full availability through the holiday season, with the exception of December 24-26.
