Quality Assurance Technician – Food Manufacturing

We’re currently seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to join their Winnipeg production facility. This position plays a key role in ensuring compliance with all food safety programs, maintaining product quality, and supporting ongoing improvement initiatives across operations.
Location & Schedule
📍 Border Street Winnipeg, MB
🕓 Shifts: Sunday to Monday
⏰ Hours: 8:30 AM–5:00 PM or 10:00 AM–6:30 PM (flexibility to work this shift – depending on assigned shift)

Key Responsibilities
- Support front-line supervisors to ensure adherence to GMP and HACCP program compliance.
- Conduct on-floor quality checks and internal audits to ensure compliance with CFIA and company standards.
- Participate in routine plant and warehouse audits to verify quality and food safety protocols.
- Assist in training sessions related to food safety, HACCP, and quality control.
- Maintain accurate HACCP documentation, records, verification, and corrective actions.
- Collect and send microbiological and chemical samples for lab testing; review and verify results.
- Support updates and revisions of SOPs, specifications, and QA documentation.
- Monitor supplier compliance and ensure incoming materials meet QA standards.
- Conduct investigations into non-compliance issues and recommend corrective measures.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Food Science, Chemistry, Public Health, or Biological Science.
- Working knowledge of food safety standards and HACCP.
- Previous experience in a food processing or manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications.
- Comfortable working in cold environments: processing areas (10°C), coolers (4°C), and freezers (-18°C).
