Project Manager & Estimator
Overview
Fuze HR is currently seeking a Project Manager & Estimator to join our team in Scarborough. This role is responsible for managing and developing point-of-purchase displays and promotional packaging programs while maintaining strong client relationships. The successful candidate will oversee project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring that all aspects align with expectations for quality, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency.
As a Project Manager & Estimator, you will be responsible for quoting projects for both existing and new clients, ensuring competitiveness and profitability. This role requires strong collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including sales, design, warehouse teams, and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating:
- Prepare cost estimates for client projects by analyzing project scope, production requirements, and specifications, ensuring competitiveness and profitability.
- Request and evaluate supplier quotes for external materials and services, securing the best pricing and value.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Design and Production, to determine cost-effective and efficient methods to complete projects.
- Ensure quote submissions are accurate, clear, and delivered promptly.
- Provide sales teams with relevant pricing information for effective client communication.
- Participate in project kick-offs, production meetings, and cost analysis reviews to optimize pricing strategies.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and stay updated on market trends, pricing adjustments, and industry competitiveness.
Project Management:
- Manage and execute projects for assigned accounts, ensuring all deliverables meet quality, budget, and timeline requirements.
- Translate project objectives into clear, actionable scopes for internal teams.
- Review technical specifications and requirements for projects, preparing dockets, POs, work orders, and spec sheets for production.
- Conduct pre-production meetings and coordinate with production teams to ensure smooth execution.
- Demonstrate full ownership of projects, proactively troubleshooting and escalating issues when necessary.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing concerns and providing regular project updates.
- Lead and motivate project teams, fostering collaboration and a positive work environment.
- Leverage industry knowledge of packaging, displays, retail merchandisers, and fulfillment services to develop effective client solutions.
- Support the sales team by preparing presentations, organizing project details, and participating in client meetings as needed.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and continuously seek process improvements.
- Generate reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications & Requirements
- University or college degree is an asset.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in the packaging, print/graphics, POP retail merchandising, or display industry.
- Self-motivated, strong work ethic, and a “can-do” attitude.
- Demonstrated honesty, integrity, and strong ethics.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Highly organized with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, address challenges, and hold others accountable.
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
- Comfortable adapting to new processes and system changes.
- Strong time management skills, with a focus on efficiency and continuous improvement.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, particularly Excel and Word.
