Payroll & Benefits Business Partner

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Payroll & Benefits Business Partner to join a growing Canadian organization. This role will lead payroll operations and benefits administration while partnering closely with Finance, HR, and leadership to ensure compliance, accuracy, and operational excellence.

This opportunity is ideal for a payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys improving processes, and brings strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and HRIS systems.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end payroll processing for multi site operation ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely payroll delivery
  • Ensure compliance with all Canadian payroll legislation including CRA requirements, CPP, EI, taxable benefits, remittances, ROEs, T4s, and year-end processing
  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert for payroll compliance, audits, reconciliations, reporting, and complex payroll matters
  • Manage and optimize payroll systems and HRIS platforms, including system enhancements, testing, reporting, and process improvements
  • Oversee employee benefits administration including enrollments, deductions, life event changes, disability, and vendor coordination
  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance and HR leadership to support payroll governance, reporting accuracy, and employee experience initiatives
  • Maintain strong internal controls, confidentiality standards, and documentation practices to support compliance and operational efficiency
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of progressive payroll experience within Ontario
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and compliance requirements
  • Experience with HRIS/payroll systems such as Dayforce/Ceridian
  • PCP designation considered a strong asset
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion
