JOB DESCRIPTION
Manufacturing Production Assistant
$26.25/hr
Day OR Night Shift available

The Manufacturing Production Assistant reports to the Supervisor and is responsible for supporting daily production activities, quality control processes, material handling, and general plant operations within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate production equipment including drying, milling, and material processing machinery.
  • Package bulk materials into large industrial bags using automated loading systems.
  • Package smaller unit bags and prepare pallets for shipment.
  • Maintain warehouse areas in a clean and organized condition.
  • Load customer pick-ups and unload incoming material deliveries.
  • Monitor product quality and record production data.
  • Report inconsistencies, defects, or non-conformities to management.
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and operational procedures.
  • Perform general plant cleaning and housekeeping duties as required.
  • Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and material handling equipment.
  • Operate a front-end loader for material movement and waste transfer.
  • Work at heights using proper fall protection equipment.
  • Safely operate all equipment within the production area.
  • Maintain optimal production output and efficiency.
  • Follow standard operating procedures for all production processes.
  • Operate equipment via control panels where applicable.
  • Sample and inspect finished products in accordance with quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records.
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new team members.
  • Participate in shift work as required.
  • Support investigations related to quality or customer concerns.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Experience operating forklifts, loaders, and lift equipment, Forklift License Required
  • Basic math skills required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Capable of following structured production plans with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements
  • Regular standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.
  • Frequent lifting of up to 35 lbs and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to handle tools and operate equipment safely.
