Maintenance Millwright Technician
Afternoon Shift
Wage: $35-$43 based on experience and licensing
Position Overview
We’re looking for a skilled Millwright to join a growing maintenance team, responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient operation of industrial machinery and equipment. This hands-on role involves the installation, repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems—including motors, pumps, valves, and production equipment—using both manual and powered tools. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical background and a proactive approach to equipment upkeep and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, service, and maintain mechanical equipment used in production and processing environments
  • Interpret mechanical blueprints, layout drawings, and schematics to guide repair and installation tasks
  • Dismantle equipment and machinery for inspections and repairs; reassemble with precision and safety in mind
  • Use shop tools and machinery to fabricate components required for maintenance and installations
  • Conduct operational tests on repaired systems to ensure functionality and safety
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical issues using standard diagnostic tools
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used
  • Perform routine tasks such as cleaning, lubrication, and inspection to minimize downtime and extend equipment life
  • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to improve maintenance strategies and procedures
  • Monitor parts inventory and report shortages or replenishment needs
  • Uphold all safety protocols and contribute to a safe working environment
  • Participate in training sessions and apply knowledge to daily work
  • Maintain discretion with sensitive company and client information
Qualifications
Education & Certification
  • Trade certification as an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) preferred
Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years in a mechanical maintenance or industrial equipment repair role
Skills & Competencies
  • Solid understanding of mechanical systems including conveyors, pumps, compressors, and pneumatic tools
  • Comfortable reading and interpreting technical drawings and electrical schematics
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement
  • Experience using voltmeters and other diagnostic tools for troubleshooting
  • Familiar with preventative maintenance practices and documentation standards
