Fuze HR is now hiring a Maintenance Manager with food/beverage manufacturing experience in Burnaby, BC! This is a unique opportunity well-suited to an aspiring Manager with a few years of leadership under their belt, someone who will get excited about the prospect of building out & modernizing a maintenance program that hasn’t reached its full potential. We are on the hunt for individuals with electromechanical skills, ideally a Power Engineering certification, and at least a year of Supervisor/Manager experience within a GMP production environment.

What are the Responsibilities?
- The Maintenance Manager is, first and foremost, responsible for safe and efficient operation of the facility, including all equipment.
- Support maintenance staff with a hands-on approach, providing technical oversight, coaching, and training in pursuit of continuous improvement.
- Oversee, train and lead the maintenance team in scheduling, preventative maintenance and the safe and efficient operation and repair of all plant equipment.
- Implement, improve, and maintain preventative and predictive maintenance systems to minimize downtime and maximize reliability/extend equipment lifespan.
- Identify opportunities and make recommendations to continuously improve maintenance operations and efficiencies.
- Perform work planning and scheduling of personnel (3-5 reports) on a weekly basis
- Oversee safe and efficient operation of all utilities and equipment within the facility (production, packaging, material handling equipment & storing/shipping equipment and systems)
- Manage spare parts & inventory
- Support Food Safety & Quality standards, adhere to company SOPs, along with industry and company safety standards
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities such as work orders, repairs, and inspections
- Coordinate with all outside contractors and ensure that work is completed in a safe manner in compliance with industry & company standards (GMP, HACCP, WHIMIS, etc)
- Oversee Capital Projects assigned by Operation Manager.
- Assist senior management with establishing and implementing operating and capital budgets; ensure maintenance operates within budget parameters.
What are the Requirements?
- Minimum 5 years’ of relevant maintenance experience, ideally within a food, beverage, pharma, or cosmetic manufacturing environment (GMP/HACCP)
- Minimum Class 5 Power Engineering Certification, preference for 3rd or 4th class
- Millwright or Electrician Trade Qualification highly desirable
- Demonstrable success managing and executing preventative and predictive maintenance systems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, must be able to communicate effectively in English (written & verbal)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, familiarity with logic controllers, schematics, and electrical systems.
- Must be computer savvy, our client would LOVE to hire an individual with CMMS implementation/upgrade experience.
