Logistics Coordinator

We are looking for an experienced Logistics Coordinator for our location in Vaughan, Ontario. This is a permanent position with an opportunity for advancement. The successful candidate will be responsible for the prompt dispatch of driver services to meet the customer’s needs as well as being Responsible for ongoing monitor of the drivers and proactively addressing any scheduling issues that may arise.

Renumeration:

Salary: $55,000 – $60,000/year

Shift: 5:00am – 2:00pm

Benefits: After 3 months

Vacation: 2 weeks, 3 personal days, 10 sick days

Duties & Responsibilities:

• The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for assigning a dedicated and open board driver to a customer account, and working directly with the driver and customer to ensure timely and effective delivery of goods.
• Ensures start times are daily by contacting IC’s, one hour in advance, when required
• Using the company TMS monitor the tracking of the driver and manage any unexpected events as they arise.
• Responsible for keeping the customer informed as well as escalating any issues to the Dispatch Supervisor or Operations Manager.
• Ability to manage any unplanned events or manage last minute requests from the customers, keeping all parties informed of any changes.
• Interacting with service vendors, when required, utilizing purchase order process.
• Monitoring inbound e-mail requests, entering pickup requests to be executed
• Receiving IC paperwork submissions, reviewing time sheets and P.O.D’s
• Supply IC’s/Drovers with necessary logs, run sheets and security equipment (pin-locks and glad-hand locks) as required.
• Assist with loading of trailers, as required.
• Cross-train with Logistics Managers, providing occasional replacement support on a temporary basis.
• Managing company fuel card and rental tractor process as required.
• Complete additional tasks as required by next level manager.

Qualifications:

• Strong organization skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to make decisions quickly
• Knowledge of Microsoft products
• Knowledge of Transportation Management System (TMS) is key
• Ability to operate a forklift (Bonus)
