Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Landscape Construction Lead Operator to support and lead field operations on construction and hardscape projects. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on construction experience who enjoys working outdoors, operating equipment, and leading crews to deliver high-quality results within tight timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support landscape construction crews on-site
- Perform and oversee hardscape construction tasks
- Operate landscaping and construction equipment safely and efficiently
- Read and interpret construction plans, grades, and project specifications
- Execute and oversee grading, drainage, base preparation, and compaction work
- Ensure projects are completed on schedule and to quality standards
- Train, mentor, and support crew members on job sites
- Maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment
- Coordinate with Operations to manage daily tasks and priorities
Qualifications & Experience
- 6 months to 1 year of experience in a similar landscape construction or lead operator role
- Valid driver’s license with a minimum of 3 years (non-commercial) driving experience
- Strong background in hardscape construction
- Experience in a leadership or foreperson role is an asset
- Solid knowledge of grading, drainage, base preparation, and compaction
- Ability to read and interpret plans, grades, and specifications
- Comfortable operating a variety of landscaping and construction equipment
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Calm, focused, and effective under pressure and tight deadlines
- Enjoys training, mentoring, and leading teams
Education & Training
- Related training and certifications are considered an asset but are not required
