What are the Responsibilities?
As a key member of the maintenance team, you will ensure that complex manufacturing and facility equipment remains safe, efficient, and fully operational. You’ll work hands‑on with advanced automation, PLCs, electrical distribution systems, and high‑speed production equipment.
- Performing planned preventative maintenance, with detailed documentation using the Manager Plus system
- Programming, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, temperature controls, and related components
- Assisting in the planning/organization of maintenance tasks (drawings, parts prep, workflow)
- Supporting installation of new equipment and upgrades to existing production infrastructure
- Measuring, cutting, and installing wiring and conduit
- Installing, configuring, and programming electrical equipment
- Interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and logic drawings
- Diagnosing, repairing, or replacing faulty electrical components
- Conducting preventative maintenance inspections
- Following local, provincial, and national electrical codes
- Performing additional maintenance tasks as assigned
What are the Requirements?
- Certified Industrial Journeyman Electrician (industrial experience required, residential or construction-only backgrounds will not be considered)
- Minimum 2 years of Industrial Electrician experience in food, beverage, or similar manufacturing environments
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands‑on experience with automated systems
- Solid understanding of PLC systems, including Allen‑Bradley and Siemens
- Ability to lift and stack up to 50 lbs. independently
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication and documentation abilities
- A proven commitment to safety and high‑quality workmanship
