What are the Responsibilities?
- Play a critical role within the design team to develop and refine new and existing products
- Evaluate end-user interaction with and feedback on products to identify areas for improvement, enhance design specifications accordingly
- Communicate design ideas and concepts effectively through sketches, prototypes, and presentations
- Play a key role in new product design/development, including concept, performance, and production criteria
- Collaborate with production and maintenance to refine, enhance and improve processes, reduce costs, and mitigate commercial issues
- Adhere to established processes and procedures, refine/adjust as necessary to best support production and customer requirements, define and document new processes and procedures
- Identify the suitability and availability of materials, participate in development of accurate Bill of Materials, help define installation instructions, etc.
- Create and modify part and assembly CAD models
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously
What are the Requirements?
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience (required)
- Advanced CAD and SolidWorks proficiency
- Experience with KeyShot rendering software
- Strong sketching and visual communication abilities, coupled with advanced surface modelling skills
- Must be skilled in interpreting and synthesizing user research
- Familiarity with spreadsheets and data analysis
- Solid understanding of materials, machining, CNC practices, and design principles used in manufacturing
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong presentation abilities, MUST be comfortable communicating directly with customers/end users and speaking to technical concepts in digestible manner
- Must possess a portfolio demonstrating design skills and process, and be willing to share during the interview process
- Must be willing and able to obtain a Possession and Acquisition License (PAL) post hire
- Education: Degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, or a related field (required)
