Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Engineering Team Lead to oversee the daily operations of a multidisciplinary Mechanical and Electrical Engineering department. This role blends technical expertise, project leadership, and people management, offering the opportunity to shape strategy, optimize operations, and mentor a team of professionals. The successful candidate will drive innovation, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and align engineering initiatives with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership
- Lead and inspire a team of 15 mechanical and electrical engineers, technicians, and maintenance professionals.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop talent, fostering a high-performing and collaborative culture.
- Provide clear direction, delegate responsibilities effectively, and deliver constructive coaching and feedback.
2. Operational Management
- Oversee mechanical and electrical systems and maintenance across the facility.
- Implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and maximize equipment reliability.
- Uphold safety, efficiency, and compliance standards in all daily operations.
3. Technical Expertise
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical and electrical issues.
- Ensure compliance with codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Research and introduce emerging technologies to enhance department capabilities.
4. Project Management
- Lead capital projects, including equipment upgrades and new installations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project goals align with business priorities.
- Manage project budgets, risks, and timelines to deliver on schedule and within scope.
5. Cost Optimization
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities in engineering operations.
- Monitor and optimize energy usage for improved efficiency.
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to deliver value.
6. Collaboration & Communication
- Act as the key liaison between engineering, operations, production, and facilities teams.
- Translate technical information into clear insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- Build strong partnerships with consultants, suppliers, and contractors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
- 10+ years of leadership experience in engineering within manufacturing, industrial, or commercial sectors.
- Proven success managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong technical background in mechanical and electrical systems design, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects from initiation to completion.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Valid passport with ability to travel internationally (20% to USA and Europe).
