About the Role:
Weâre looking for a highly organized Senior Accountant to join a reputable construction company in Toronto. This position requires hands-on experience with full-cycle accounting, strong attention to detail, and proficiency in QuickBooks. The ideal candidate will manage day-to-day accounting operations, support project cost tracking, and ensure accurate financial reporting.

The ideal candidate will manage day-to-day accounting operations, support project cost tracking, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:

Handle full-cycle accounting, including A/P, A/R, payroll, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.

Perform accurate and timely data entry of invoices, expenses, and financial transactions into QuickBooks.

Prepare month-end and year-end financial statements and supporting schedules.

Maintain job costing, project tracking, and WIP (Work in Progress) reports for multiple construction projects.

Reconcile vendor accounts, issue payments, and process subcontractor billing.

Collaborate with project managers to monitor budgets, cash flow, and project profitability.

Support audits, tax filings, and compliance with accounting policies and procedures.

Recommend improvements to accounting systems and internal controls.
Qualifications:

Bachelorâs degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in construction or real estate.

QuickBooks proficiency required.

Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting and data entry best practices.

Advanced Excel and strong attention to detail.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.
