As their business continues to expand, we’re seeking a Lead Service & Installation Technician to join their skilled team — someone who can take charge of projects, guide technicians in the field, and ensure high-quality workmanship that exceeds customer expectations.
About the Role

As a Lead Technician, you’ll oversee and participate in the installation, servicing, and maintenance of a wide range of industrial door and dock systems. You’ll act as the on-site lead, coordinating project execution, ensuring safety compliance, and mentoring junior team members.

This role involves a mix of local and out-of-town projects (including Northern or remote areas), with all travel expenses, LOA, and hotel accommodations covered. You’ll also benefit from overtime opportunities and a $2.00/hr industrial premium during remote work assignments.

Key Responsibilities: Lead Service & Installation Technician
  • Lead the installation, servicing, and maintenance of products such as sectional and rolling doors, dock levelers, fire doors (including drop testing), impact doors, and vehicle restraints.
  • Supervise and mentor technicians, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Maintain truck stock, inventory, and proper use of company vehicles and tools.
  • Accurately record job details, travel time, and service reports.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Apply critical thinking to resolve on-site challenges and adapt to client needs.
  • Enforce safety policies and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Support training and development initiatives within the team.
Qualifications: Lead Service & Installation Technician
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience installing and servicing rolling, sectional, high-speed, or dock-leveler systems (experience with Mega Doors is a strong asset).
  • Proven leadership or mentorship experience in a field or service setting.
  • Welding and/or electrical experience is an advantage.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record; ability to travel (overnight and weekends may be required).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with power tools and capable of independent work.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; must pass a background check.
