CNC Mill Programmer & Setup Machinist (3-Axis / 4-Axis / 5-Axis)

We are seeking an experienced CNC Mill Programmer & Setup Machinist to join our precision machining team. In this role, you will program, set up, and optimize CNC milling machines to manufacture high-precision components used in aerospace, defense, medical device, and advanced manufacturing industries.
The ideal candidate has strong experience with 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC milling, Mastercam programming, and working with tight tolerances in a precision machining environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Program and set up CNC milling machines (3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis)
- Create and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam
- Perform G-code and M-code programming
- Set up and run horizontal CNC milling machines
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications
- Work with tight tolerance precision machined components
- Design and manufacture custom fixturing for CNC machining
- Perform visual inspections and dimensional quality checks
- Use precision measuring instruments to verify part accuracy
- Maintain safe work practices and organized workstations
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the machining department
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5+ years experience in CNC mill programming and setup
- Experience with 3-axis and 4-axis CNC milling machines
- 5-axis CNC machining experience strongly preferred
- Proficiency with Mastercam programming
- Experience with Haas or Fanuc CNC controls
- Strong knowledge of G-code and M-code programming
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
- Experience working with tight tolerances in precision machining
- Ability to design and build machining fixtures
- Experience using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
- High School Diploma or GED
- Machinist certification considered an asset
