Building Engineer – Building Restoration Consulting
Our client, a leading Canadian engineering firm recognized for its excellence in building restoration and multidisciplinary consulting, is seeking a Building Engineer to join their Building Restoration Consulting Team. With a team of over 130 professionals across Canada, the firm delivers a wide range of services, including restoration, capital planning, structural, mechanical, building envelope, accessibility, and energy optimization for buildings of all types.

The Role
As a Building Engineer, you’ll contribute to delivering exceptional engineering services and solutions that exceed client expectations. You’ll work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment, gaining hands-on experience across multiple project phases and contributing to the firm’s reputation for professionalism and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Professionalism & Collaboration
- Demonstrate a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a proactive, solution-focused mindset.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and consultants, representing the firm with integrity and professionalism.
Technical & Project Support
- Assist in building evaluations, site investigations, and construction reviews.
- Contribute to project coordination and successful delivery of restoration and rehabilitation projects.
- Prepare technical reports, construction documents, and proposals.
- Liaise effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure clear communication and alignment across all project stages.
- Participate in client meetings, industry events, and networking functions as a professional ambassador of the firm.
Learning & Growth
- Develop your knowledge in building science, life cycle analysis, costing, and related disciplines.
- Share insights and lessons learned to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Building Science, Restoration Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
- Full professional proficiency in French (written and spoken) required.
- Intermediate English proficiency to effectively collaborate and communicate with English-speaking stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a client-focused mindset.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
- Commitment to continuous learning, creative problem-solving, and contributing to a positive team culture.
