FuzeHR is looking for a passionate, experienced Automation Technician to join our client’s team and help drive excellence in electrical and control systems—with travel opportunities across North America and beyond!
✈️ Travel the World While Doing What You Love
This role includes frequent travel—up to 25%—to domestic and international client sites. You’ll be hands-on with advanced machinery, solving real-world challenges, and making a global impact.
🔧 What You’ll Be Doing
  • Wire and test machines in the Langley shop
  • Program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC/HMI systems
  • Collaborate with technical writers to improve program manuals
  • Provide timely and professional customer support
  • Review technical requirements and develop engineering designs for upgrades
  • Validate electrical, control, and instrumentation systems (P&ID, loop drawings, connection diagrams)
  • Communicate effectively with vendors across timelines, testing, and readiness
  • Design and configure automation solutions with ingenuity and precision
  • Prepare tender and construction packages, including installation specs and drawings
  • (Future) Mentor junior engineers, technologists, and drafters
  • Dual role: the Automation Technician will support both Production and Service departments as required to accommodate project and customer requirements
🧠 What You Bring
  • Technician/Technologist certificate, Bachelor’s degree, or two-year diploma in automation technology
  • 3+ years of PLC programming experience
  • Hands-on experience with Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi (VFDs, PLCs, HMIs)
  • Strong commissioning, start-up, and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent analytical, technical writing, and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-managed, goal-driven, and collaborative mindset
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Due to heavy travel component and projects based in visa-restricted countries, possession of a Canadian or similarly unrestricted passport is required.
Bonus Points
  • Experience with mineral processing equipment and metallurgical testing
  • Red Seal Electrician Designation
  • ERP knowledge an experience (applicable within an industrial setting)
