Role Summary:
The Maintenance Planning Coordinator will manage work order flow within Maximo, coordinate schedules with supervisors, track progress, and help balance priorities across trades. The role ensures alignment between planned work and field execution, maintains CMMS accuracy, and supports a structured weekly planning process.
What are the Requirements?
  • 3–5 years of experience in maintenance coordination or planning in heavy industry, refining, or similar industrial environments
  • Hands-on familiarity with mechanical, electrical, or other trade workflows
  • Strong knowledge of CMMS systems, preferably Maximo
  • Experience working effectively with unionized employees; familiarity with collective agreements is an asset
  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong written and verbale communication skills, comfortable working with supervisors and unionized trades and ensuring consistent, comprehensible flow of information
  • Experienced in heavy industry, refining, or similar environments
  • Ideal candidates will be somewhat mechanically or electrically inclined, with practical understanding of maintenance workflows
  • Must be safety focused, proactive, and able to work with minimal supervision
Summary
This role will complement the company’s existing Maintenance Planner. While the Planner builds detailed and technically sound work packages, the Planning Coordinator will ensure those plans move effectively through the system and into execution. The Maintenance Planning Coordinator will be key in maintaining alignment, reducing reactive work, and supporting overall operational reliability.
