Position Summary:
The Senior Buyer will manage procurement activities to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality acquisition of materials and services. This role involves strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and process improvements to support organizational goals. The Senior Buyer acts as a subject matter expert in purchasing and provides leadership on complex procurement projects.
Key Responsibilities:

Create and manage purchase orders for materials and services.

Research, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and specifications.

Solicit and tabulate bids to enable cost-effective and strategic purchasing decisions.

Resolve invoice and purchase order discrepancies to mitigate financial risk.

Partner with the Procurement Manager on strategic projects and process improvement initiatives.

Analyze purchasing requirements and identify cost-saving opportunities.
-
Lead procurement projects and track progress to ensure timely completion.

Obtain quotes for goods and services not currently sourced by the organization.

Maintain accurate procurement records and prepare usage reports for managerial decision-making.

Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

Coordinate end-to-end global shipments, including incoterms, documentation, customs clearance, and risk management.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Strong understanding of procurement processes, supplier evaluation, and contract management.

Knowledge of legal and contractual aspects of purchasing agreements.

Advanced working knowledge of SAP.

Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
-
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Outstanding communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders.
Education & Experience:

Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Professional designation from a recognized Purchasing Association (e.g., SCMP, CPSM) is highly preferred.

Minimum 5–7 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Proven track record in strategic sourcing and cost optimization.
