Controller FP&A Focus

Wealth Management

A growing wealth management firm is seeking a Controller with a strong FP&A focus to lead forecasting, financial planning, and strategic analysis while maintaining oversight of core accounting functions. This role is heavily oriented toward forward-looking finance, growth planning, and providing leadership with clear, actionable financial insight.

This is a full-time, in-office position and is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, values proximity to decision-making, and wants to play a key role in shaping the financial future of a growing financial services business.

Key Responsibilities

FP&A and Strategic Finance

• Own firm-wide forecasting, budgeting, and long-range financial planning
• Build and maintain financial models to support growth, hiring, and revenue expansion
• Analyze trends in AUM growth, revenue, expenses, and profitability
• Develop KPIs and dashboards to provide leadership with real-time financial visibility
• Partner with leadership on strategic initiatives including expansion and organic growth
• Provide scenario analysis and sensitivity modeling to support decision-making

Accounting and Financial Oversight

• Oversee general ledger and monthly close process
• Review financial statements and ensure accuracy and consistency
• Manage cash flow, expense controls, and working capital
• Maintain internal controls and accounting policies
• Coordinate with external accountants and tax advisors

Systems and Process Improvement

• Improve forecasting and reporting processes
• Enhance data integrity across accounting and planning systems
• Support finance system optimization and automation

Leadership and Collaboration

• Act as a trusted finance partner to ownership and senior leadership
• Collaborate closely with operations, advisors, and leadership teams
• Support and mentor junior finance or accounting staff as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• 7 plus years of progressive finance and accounting experience
• Strong FP&A background with emphasis on forecasting and financial modeling
• Experience within wealth management, financial services, or professional services strongly preferred
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills required
• Strong business acumen and ability to communicate financial insights clearly
• CPA or CFA a plus but not required
