We are hiring a Health & Safety Specialist for a large and reputable food processing plant located in Langley, BC! They are committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational excellence and need someone to lead their safety initiatives and foster a culture of well-being across the facility.
Compensation & Perks:
- Salary Range: $75,000K – $85,000K with potential wiggle room depending on experience
- Bonus: up to 10% annually based on company and individual performance
- Pension: 3% employer match after 1 year

Responsibilities:
- Lead and implement the Occupational Health & Safety Management System across all departments
- Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and develop prevention strategies
- Manage site inspections, safety programs, and emergency preparedness drills
- Act as the primary contact for WorkSafe BC, Fraser Health, and external safety advisors
- Maintain safety documentation including SOPs, MSDS sheets, and training records
- Keep safety portals updated and support internal and external audits
- Analyze safety data to guide strategic decisions and performance improvements
- Oversee claims management and return-to-work programs
- Manage the First Aid Attendants program, including training and inventory
- Conduct safety orientation for new hires and contractors
- Deliver targeted safety training and promote a culture of wellness and compliance
- Provide tools and resources to embed safety into daily operations
Requirements:
- Occupational Health and Safety Diploma
- Minimum 3+ years as a Health & Safety in manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of WorkSafe BC regulations and safety legislation
- Train-the-Trainer certification preferred
- COR Auditing, CHSC, CRSP, or other safety certifications are assets
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety data systems
- Excellent communication, organizational, and coaching skills
- Detail-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and build trust
- Must pass a criminal background check
