Courier Sorter / Package Handler Cranbrook, BC Temp-to-perm opportunities available for reliable and high-performing individuals
Shifts: Morning and afternoon (split shift), Monday to Friday hours AM Shift: ~5:00–9:00 AM MST PM Shift: ~2:00–6:00 PM MST Must be flexible with start times and available for both shifts if needed
Salary: $22.94/hour
We are seeking a reliable and motivated individual to join a dynamic logistics team as a Courier Sorter. In this fast-paced role, you will be responsible for loading, unloading, and sorting packages to ensure timely and accurate delivery operations. This is a physically demanding position ideal for someone who thrives in an active environment and has strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sort packages by size, weight, and destination to prepare for distribution
- Load and unload packages from delivery trucks and trailers
- Move freight manually or with conveyors, depending on the package size and location
- Handle both conveyable and non-conveyable items (bulk items moved manually)
- Assist with pre-loading for delivery routes when required
- Rotate between tasks during shifts (loading/unloading/sorting)
- Work in a small team, often 2 people per trailer or shift
- Maintain performance standards based on efficient trailer unload/load times
- Follow all health and safety protocols, including steel toe boot requirements
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Respect site protocols (no phones on the floor, ID required, locker use, etc.)
Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous experience in package handling, sorting, warehouse, or similar roles preferred
- Able to consistently lift, push, pull up to 70 lbs (approx. 32 kg)
- Physically fit and able to work on your feet throughout the shift
- Comfortable with repetitive bending, lifting, and movement
- Strong work ethic and punctuality – must arrive at least 15 minutes before each shift
- Must have valid government-issued photo ID
- Steel/composite toe safety footwear required
- Ability to work in a team with minimal supervision
