We are hiring a 3rd Class Power Engineer for a 6-Month Contract to work on-stie in Quirk Creek, AB.

The successful 3rd Class Power Engineer will join a Calgary-based energy company that operates key natural gas and oil processing facilities in Alberta's Foothills region. With a focus on repurposing conventional resources, they are actively engaged in energy transition initiatives, including hydrogen production and carbon capture. Their operations emphasize environmental stewardship and community engagement, particularly within Treaty Seven Traditional Lands.

What you’ll do as a 3rd Class Power Engineer:
  • Operate and monitor equipment and systems at the gas plant
  • Perform operating tests and record process data accurately
  • Adhere to safety and environmental procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
  • Assist with oil and water treatment operations
  • Respond promptly to operational and safety instructions from senior staff
  • Maintain full compliance with safety protocols, especially for sour gas environments

What you’ll bring as a 3rd Class Power Engineer:
  • Hold a valid 3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate
  • Over 2 years of relevant industry experience
  • Hands-on experience with sour gas operations, with a strong understanding of sour gas hazards and related safety practices
  • Demonstrated ability to follow direction and work well in team settings
  • Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
  • Background in oil and water treatment processes
