Regional Business Development Representative – Remote – Canada
Reports To: Business Development Manager – Energy
Position Overview
As a Regional Business Development Representative, you will be a pivotal member of the sales team, entrusted with driving significant growth in the Canadian market. Your role will encompass developing and executing strategic sales plans, establishing and nurturing customer relationships, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to tailor solutions that meet the unique needs of the Energy sector. This position is remote-based, offering flexibility and autonomy to manage your territory effectively.
Key Responsibilities
  • Sales Strategy Execution: Achieve regional sales targets by implementing the national sales strategy, ensuring alignment with the overarching business objectives.
  • Account Management: Develop and manage key account strategies within your region, reflecting activities in a Mission Map to support the overall business strategy.
  • Customer Engagement: Establish new customer relationships while maintaining and strengthening existing client connections, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Project Pipeline Management: Maintain and progress the project pipeline for the region, documenting activities in Salesforce.com to ensure accurate forecasting and reporting.
  • Sales Presentations: Conduct effective sales presentations to educate clients within the Energy segment, contributing to increased market penetration.
  • Contract Negotiation: Create, manage, and negotiate contracts, pricing, and customized sales & marketing programs that align with the channel strategy to optimize regional market share.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and global counterparts to provide tailored solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Market Research: Conduct thorough market research to identify opportunities for expanding our footprint within the Energy sector, providing valuable insights to the corporate office for product development.
  • Business Development: Develop new business targets to replace alternate materials, coordinating with the Business Manager to drive growth.
  • Industry Knowledge: Maintain a strong understanding of existing and new product offerings, as well as industry technology, by attending regional and national tradeshows as an expert representative.
  • Administrative Support: Meet administrative deadlines to support business activities, ensuring timely and efficient operations.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related field or a combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of direct sales and client relations experience, with a focus on the Industrial/Energy sector.
  • Technical Expertise: Proven track record of developing effective relationships with customers and providing technical support.
  • Language Skills: Bilingual – English and French.
  • Communication Skills: Possesses professional written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • CRM Proficiency: Experience with a CRM system; Salesforce.com experience is optimal.
  • Travel Requirements: Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel up to 50% to 75%, including overnight stays.
