We are seeking to hire a Quality Assurance Tech with some background in food or beverage production for a 3-month contract opportunity, with possibility for extension or conversion to permanent employment. Qualified applicants will present at least a year of relevant Quality experience within a GMP production facility, along with strong communication, data entry, and analytical skills. What are the Responsibilities?
- Conduct pre-operation checks, collect and analyze finished product samples, and perform sensory and analytical testing to ensure quality standards.
- Monitor compliance with GMP, food safety, and sanitation protocols, manage corrective action reports, and assist with record keeping and critical control point verification.
- Support the development of food safety programs, calibrate equipment, participate in R&D projects, and conduct routine facility inspections to maintain safety and compliance.
- Collect finished product samples in production areas for analysis.
- Ensure raw materials and finished products meet specifications standards.
- Verification of in-process and finished products in food production areas.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with quality programs including GMP, Food Safety, Sanitation, and Hygiene, adhere to audit compliance.
- Produce/enforce Corrective Action Reports, participate in accurate record-keeping.
- Critical Control Point verification.
- Calibrate programs and troubleshoot optical sorter.
- Audit/maintain required inventory for QA department supplies and equipment.
- Conduct routine and spot facility inspections.
What are the Requirements?
- At least 1 year of experience performing QA/QC duties within a food production environment
- Working knowledge of GMP and HACCP programs.
- Competent oral and written communication skills including ability to write concise technical reports, must be able to communicate effectively in English
- Data entry skills, must be comfortable using Excel, Word, and other computer software.
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to pass a background check
- Must have reliable transportation TO the facility, shift starts before Transit is available
- Must possess or purchase Steel Toe/Safety Shoes prior to start date & adhere to PPE requirements while on site.
