The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the facilities, layout, and machinery used in the production and delivery of precast concrete products operate at maximum efficiency and output. This includes overseeing predictive and preventative maintenance, managing mechanical, electrical, and robotic equipment breakdowns (including software programming), and handling people management and budgetary reporting.

– Lead, coach, train, and develop a high-performing maintenance team to meet objectives and adhere to company guidelines.

– Develop and implement shift schedules, managing labor resources to maintain appropriate staffing levels.

– Oversee scheduling, preventative maintenance, and repair of all production equipment, including building maintenance.

– Ensure compliance with safety policies and Health and Safety Program to promote a safe working environment.

– Develop and manage a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule to maximize operational efficiency.

– Schedule internal and external maintenance work, optimizing planned downtime and minimizing unplanned downtime.

– Coordinate with outside contractors, ensuring compliance with all relevant manufacturing codes, regulations, and standards.

– Perform routine calibration and maintenance of electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

– Assist senior management with the development and execution of operating and capital budgets, ensuring maintenance operations stay within budget.

– Manage the introduction of new machinery, from specification development through installation, in collaboration with all relevant parties.

– Oversee the disposal of obsolete machinery and equipment, ensuring compliance with safe and lawful disposal practices.

– Conduct root cause analysis and implement effective solutions to ensure continuous production.

– Perform risk assessments for department processes and tasks.

– Develop, implement, and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for areas of responsibility.

– Maintain accurate maintenance records and monitor machine performance.

– Collaborate with the Operations team to share ideas, improve efficiency, and support continuous improvement activities.

– Work closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment with the maintenance strategy and compliance.

Qualifications and Experience:

– Relevant degree in manufacturing/engineering; MMP certification is a plus.

– Minimum of five years’ experience in plant/facility maintenance, with at least two years in a leadership role.

– Significant experience in plant-level maintenance and proven people management capabilities.

– Completion of a mechanical/electrical/electronic apprenticeship.

– Technical expertise and knowledge of OHSA standards for industrial and construction operations.

– Familiarity with PLC controls, PM/TPM systems, and P&L management for maintenance.

– Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
