The Urban Planner will be responsible for:

• Efficiently manage and coordinate the submission process for various development applications, encompassing Official Plan Amendments, Zoning Bylaw Amendments, Site Plan Applications, minor variances, and consent applications, as well as Plans of Subdivisions.
• Conduct in-depth research, analysis, and preparation of due diligence studies to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the implications and potential challenges associated with proposed projects.
• Coordinate, plan, schedule, and oversee the technical aspects of land development projects.
• Effectively manage and maintain the team’s workload and backlog.
• Uphold a high standard of professionalism, demonstrating personal accountability in areas such as time management, quality control, troubleshooting project work, and consistently meeting project timelines and budgetary constraints.
• Organize public consultation meetings and lead community information meetings.
• Proactively cultivate and strengthen client relationships, actively participating in the business development team to contribute insights and strategies.

The required qualifications for the Urban Planner are:

• 5+ years of industry planning experience.
• 3+ years of experience working in consulting.
• Possession of a relevant Urban Planning degree, coupled with Full membership in the OPPI or eligibility to apply.
• Holds an RPP designation or is eligible for RPP within the next 6 months.
• Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills, ensuring clear and compelling articulation of ideas to diverse stakeholders.
• Proficient in office applications, graphics, GIS, and design software.
