Our client, a mainstay in the software development world, is currently seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join their dynamic team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and maintain talent acquisition/recruitment and sourcing strategies;
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for strategic and critical roles from attracting to sourcing talent, interviewing and assessing candidates, as well as conducting background checks and issuing offers of employment;
  • Act as a subject matter expert and coach managers in effective behavioral interviewing practices, compliant interviewing protocol and effective candidate screening techniques;
  • Work collaboratively with the HR team and upper management to take a proactive recruitment approach by assessing current and future hiring needs;
  • Act as an ambassador and maintain a strong employer brand to retain our title as Canada’s Top Employer;
  • Source active and passive candidates for current vacancies and build pipelines and talent communities for future opportunities;
  • Screen incoming and on-file applicant resumes and assess for job and cultural fit;
  • Identify best channels for attracting talent and advertising job vacancies (e.g. professional associations, universities and colleges, social media, job boards, etc.);
  • Attend external recruitment events (e.g. campus fairs, career fairs and networking events) and participate as a company representative;
  • Prepare salary recommendation analyses and collaborate with HR representatives on the development of new hire total rewards packages;
  • Generate employment offer letters and other related materials for distribution to applicants and hiring managers;
  • Maintain communication with applicants and hiring managers throughout the recruitment lifecycle;
  • Monitor and measure recruitment results against Key Performance Indicators.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of recruiting experience;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and French (verbal and written)
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills;
  • Excellent MS Office skills and experience working with Applicant Tracking Systems;
  • Sound problem-solving skills to identify and assess moderately complex issues and opportunities that support the business;
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to foster positive working relationships with members at all levels of the organization;
  • A true desire to continuously learn, improve and keep abreast of developments and innovation in the talent acquisition field;
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively;
  • A team player that can work in a collaborative environment;
  • Sound decision making and project management skills;
  • Ability to manage a high volume of talent acquisition activities;
  • Highly flexible with a good tolerance for ambiguity and time-driven deadlines;
  • Proven ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities;
